Thank you for supporting Lakeland Habitat for Humanity. With your help, we are able to continue to offer low-income (up to 80% of median income) veterans, the elderly, and people with disabilities who are homeowners a new housing preservation program called A Brush with Kindness, HOLY MOMENTS.
- A Brush with Kindness is a Lakeland Habitat program serving low-income homeowners impacted by age, disability, and family circumstances who struggle to maintain their homes.
- A Brush with Kindness complements Habitat’s core building program. It allows us to serve a different population than we currently serve, yet it follows the same basic tenets for eligibility. It is a direct fit with LHFH’s strategic plan to exponentially increase the number of families served. Repair costs will not exceed $5,000.
- A Brush with Kindness uses volunteers and sub-contractors. This program will help low-income homeowners continue to live independently and securely in their homes.
- A Brush with Kindness is part of Habitat’s broader community development strategy, a holistic approach that assists communities as well as families. It revitalizes the appearance of the neighborhood, strengthens connections within the community, and, most importantly, helps preserve and create affordable housing stock.
This program can prevent a family from becoming homeless. A HOLY MOMENT.
